Armed Forces

At our school, we are proud to serve and support children and families who are part of the Armed Forces community. We understand that service life can bring unique challenges, including deployment, training periods, changes in routine and, at times, the need to relocate at short notice. To ensure every child feels secure, settled and understood, we take a proactive and personalised approach to pastoral care.

Our pastoral and safeguarding teams maintain regular communication with parents to offer stability and reassurance during times of change. We monitor the wellbeing and progress of service children carefully, providing additional emotional check‑ins, small‑group support or academic help when it is needed. Staff are trained to understand the pressures that can arise for children during parental deployment, and we work closely with families to ensure pupils feel connected, included and confident in school.

We also value the strong and positive relationship we have with local Armed Forces units. Throughout the year, service personnel visit our school to enrich pupils’ learning and strengthen their understanding of the world around them. Children enjoy engaging assemblies where they learn about what life in the Armed Forces is like—covering themes such as teamwork, resilience, problem‑solving and global responsibility. These visits help children build respect and empathy for the varied roles within the Forces.
